About the Opportunity
This is a newly created position reporting directly to the COO, offering a unique opportunity to build and own the contracts function in a scaling organization. The role is highly entrepreneurial and ideal for someone comfortable operating as an “army of one” while building processes from the ground up.
The
Contracts Administrator
will serve as a key partner across finance, program management, and business development, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and scalability of government contracting operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management:
Own the full lifecycle of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, administration, and closeout
Subcontract Management:
Manage subcontract lifecycle in alignment with federal regulations and company policies
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable regulatory requirements
Risk Management:
Proactively identify and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks
Negotiation:
Lead contract negotiations to achieve favorable business outcomes while managing risk
Change Management:
Oversee contract modifications, amendments, and pricing adjustments
Reporting:
Prepare and submit required contract deliverables, financial reports, and compliance documentation
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate cross‑functionally with programs, finance, and leadership
Document Control:
Maintain organized and audit‑ready contract files and documentation
Process Improvement:
Drive efficiencies and enhancements in contract processes, systems, and workflows
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5–10 years of experience in Federal/DoD contracting, particularly in contract administration or project controls
Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and contract types (FFP, CPFF, T&M)
Familiarity with security frameworks such as CMMC and NIST 800‑53/800‑171
Proven ability to manage complex contracts involving multiple stakeholders
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑growth entrepreneurial environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel required); ERP experience preferred (currently using QuickBooks)
Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a Top Secret (TS) clearance
