Mechanical Engineer – Capital Projects
Location: On-site in Fond du Lac, WI or Green Bay, WI
Travel: Approximately 30%
Compensation: $85,000–$120,000 Base Salary + Annual Bonus
A Fortune 500 manufacturing leader is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing engineering team and support capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities.
This is not a traditional design engineering role. We are looking for engineers who enjoy working directly with manufacturing equipment, leading projects, installing new production lines, coordinating vendors and contractors, and driving projects from concept through startup and commissioning.
This role offers the opportunity to own meaningful projects, work with modern manufacturing technologies, and make a direct impact on operational performance across a large manufacturing network.
What You'll Do
- Lead capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and production line expansions
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Assist with project scoping, equipment selection, and implementation
- Support startup, commissioning, FAT/SAT activities, and operational handoff
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Travel to manufacturing facilities as needed to support project execution
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or capital equipment projects
- Experience with equipment installation, startup, commissioning, or plant projects
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
- Ability to travel on a regular basis to support project activities, collaborate with site teams, and ensure successful execution of initiatives across multiple locations.
