Job Title: Yard Manager Job Description: As a Yard Manager, you will be responsible for the secure loading and unloading of trailers with heavy equipment and materials such as pipes, augers, bore machines, excavators, welders, plates, and sheeting. You will ensure the safe transport of these items, preventing damage or loss. Additionally, you will measure, weigh, and calculate the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating for oversized or overweight loads to obtain necessary permits. Your role involves organizing and maintaining vehicles, equipment, and materials within the pipeyard, as well as driving commercial semi-trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations. Responsibilities
- Load and unload trailers with heavy equipment and materials securely.
- Measure and calculate Gross Vehicle Weight Rating for permits.
- Organize and inventory vehicles, equipment, and materials in the yard.
- Drive commercial trucks and trailers, adhering to DOT regulations.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, backhoes, and forklifts.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Communicate effectively with customers and employees.
- Maintain the upkeep of the pipeyard and premises.
- Submit and maintain accurate paperwork such as permits and inspection logs.
- Train employees on safe vehicle and equipment operations in the pipeyard.
