Title: Excavating Superintendent
Location: Lancaster, PA
Salary Range: $100K-115K ; Company Vehicle
Tiello has partnered with a highly successful General Contractor in the Lancaster, PA area on their search for an ExcavatingSuperintendent.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Act as a competent safety person on site, maintaining activities in accordance with company safety policy and project-specific safety plans.
- Daily Coordination: Schedule and coordinate daily work activities, including subcontractor work and deliveries, ensuring conformance with the project schedule.
- Productivity Monitoring: Communicate estimated productivity rates for self-performed work to employees and monitor conformance to these rates.
- Team Development: Foster a positive working atmosphere, work schedule, and habits. Mentor foremen to develop their leadership and managerial skills, supporting their growth into positions of increased responsibility.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Profitability Assurance: Ensure project profitability by inquiring about mobilization and lead times for subcontractors and materials.
- Progress Calculation: Calculate job progress, risks, and time necessary to perform tasks. Assist the Project Manager in creating and updating the project schedule.
- Quality Monitoring: Monitor the quality of all work, whether self-performed or subcontracted. Document as-built conditions on a record set of as-built drawings as changes occur.
- Remediation: Address all non-conforming work, ensuring compliance with municipality requirements, specifications, safety standards, and company policies.
- Contract Review: Review contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders. Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, Owner, Subcontractors, employees, inspectors, suppliers, architects, and engineers.
- Problem Solving: Interpret contract documents, project layouts, and solve problems as they arise.
- Reporting: Prepare Daily Log Reports, Job Site Managers Weekly Report, O.S. Reports, etc. Purchase materials via Field Purchase Orders. Coordinate project site set-up (fencing, signage, trailers, etc.).
- At least 6 years of excavation experience.
- Minimum of 2 years management experience.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and contract documents, and effectively communicate their contents.
