The primary function of the Reliability Engineer will be to assist the Reliability and Maintenance Department in the completion of tasks that contribute to the efficient and cost-effective operation of the paper mill.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with reliability and maintenance personnel to maintain and upgrade mill equipment with the intent of reducing unscheduled downtime.
- Manage daily and shutdown job assignments to insure maintenance and production schedules are met.
- Manage capital projects, to include work scope and material requirements, budgeting, vendor coordination, supervision, and work schedule.
- Develop the skills and maintain a working knowledge of the equipment and software for the following areas: predictive maintenance (vibration analysis), thermography, ultrasonic and lubrication analysis
- Maintain vibration, lubrication, and thermography routes and equipment information.
- Update existing and/or create new drawings (mechanical, electrical, P&ID's, etc.) for modifications to existing equipment or installation of new equipment.
- Provide technical support with equipment verification and documentation, develop preventative maintenance manuals, create standard operating procedures (SOP's), and perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigations.
- Assignments may include some work at higher levels for training and development purposes.
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline. Prefer Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Pulp and Paper Science.
- Applicants must have 0 - 3 years' experience in a project, reliability, or maintenance engineering role.
- Pulp and Paper Industry experience is preferred.

- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Candidate must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
- Candidate must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include, but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.
- CAD/3-D modeling experience is required, preferably with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Ability to learn Emerson AMS vibration and lubrication analysis software.
- Candidate must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem-solving and be capable of working with ambiguity and change.
