We are seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting of custom automated manufacturing systems. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers to deliver high-quality automation solutions from concept through installation and startup.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems, schematics, and automation solutions for custom equipment.
- Program, troubleshoot, and commission PLCs, HMIs, safety systems, servos, VFDs, and industrial networks.
- Support automated systems including robotics, conveyors, machine vision, pneumatics, hydraulics, and material handling equipment.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessment, debugging, startup, and field commissioning activities.
- Provide technical leadership and support to engineering, assembly, and service teams.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety requirements, and project budgets.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in controls engineering and industrial automation.
- Strong experience with Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI programming; Siemens experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical for controls schematic design.
- Experience with industrial networking, safety systems, servos, VFDs, and robotics integration.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, project management, and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
