Billing Lead

We're currently looking for a Billing Lead to join our Revenue Cycle teama critical role that ensures billing accuracy and supports the day-to-day operations of our billing department.
As the Billing Lead, you'll split your time between hands-on billing work (80%) and team support functions (20%). You'll work closely with the Billing Manager and/or Supervisor to oversee billing workflows, assist with training, and ensure high-quality outcomes across the team.

Schedule: Mon-Thurs - 8:00am-5:00pm Friday - 8:00am - 2:00pm
Location: West Chester, PA
Responsibilities
- Submit daily insurance claims and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Conduct accounts receivable (A/R) follow-up
- Ensure timely processing of patient statements, refunds, and collection submissions
- Monitor opportunities to collect co-pays, deductibles, and coinsurance at the time of service
- Enter clear and concise notes in the billing system for tracking purposes
- Act as the first point of contact for billing team questions and support
- Train and mentor new and existing billing staff
- Assist in distributing workloads and reviewing staff workflows
- Review and approve adjustments and patient refunds
- Support follow-up on insurance and patient balances
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Collaborate with leadership on process improvement and special projects
Qualifications
- High School Graduate/GED required
- Technical School/2 Years College/Associates Degree preferred
- Previous Healthcare billing and/or Healthcare accounts receivable work experience a plus.
- Highly organized, detail-orientated, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent data entry and math skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities daily in order to complete all assignments timely and accurately
- Computer literacy skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Service-oriented/customer-centric
