Job Title: Forklift Operator Job Description This role operates a sit-down forklift to safely and efficiently load and unload trailers, move materials, and support inventory operations in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift to load and unload trailers and trucks accurately and safely.
- Handle palletized and non-palletized materials, ensuring secure placement and stability during transport.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and staging areas as directed.
- Perform loading and unloading activities using a sit-down forklift for approximately 80% of the workday.
- Verify shipment details against bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documents before sign-off.
- Complete BOL sign-offs accurately and maintain proper documentation for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Assist with inventory activities, including counting, verifying, and organizing stock.
- Inspect forklifts and related equipment before use to ensure they are in safe operating condition.
- Report any equipment issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to supervision.
- Follow all safety procedures, warehouse rules, and material handling guidelines at all times.
Must Have: Experience using the sit down forklfit to load and unload trucks Work Environment This position works primarily in a warehouse and loading dock environment, operating a sit-down forklift for most of the shift. The role involves frequent loading and unloading of trailers and trucks, movement of materials throughout the facility, and regular interaction with shipping, receiving, and inventory areas. You can expect a physically active setting with varying temperatures depending on the season and dock conditions. Appropriate work attire and safety gear are required to comply with facility safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Vernon, CA.
