ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Engineer, and Purchasing to ensure that all necessary inventories are established for spare parts and most common repair parts for critical equipmentInspect and evaluate equipment and develops reliability centered maintenance programsWork closely with Planner and Purchasing to establish and maintain effective Bill of Materials (BOM) process in conjunction with maintenance programTroubleshoot problems in the plant by studying and determining root causes of failuresPrepare information to present root cause failure conclusionsImplement corrective/preventive actions ensuring optimal reliabilityIdentify, collect, analyze, and manage various types of data to minimize failures and improve performance, and use failure analysis and other types of root cause analysis in support of reliabilityEstablish and manage plant vibration and the lubrication and oil analysis programs for all systemsEstablish and maintain preventative maintenance measures and documentation for all equipmentMaintain and modify, as needed, the plant engineering systems and libraryManage projects including but not limited to project safety, scope development, budget, tracking/controlling, coordinating with internal resources as well as outside vendorsAssist with departmental budget development, maintenance reporting, and capital expenditure requestsManage, engage and utilize all levels of employees to assist in generating creative ways to drive continuous improvement and increased reliabilityFoster a culture of reliability; develop and provide training to personnel so that they can support safety, equipment reliability, and process efficiencyOversee daily work of dust collection/lube hourly union employeesCoordinate training classes with vendors and equipment suppliers regarding plant equipmentHelp facilitate a culture change throughout the maintenance departmentEducationBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Civil EngineeringReliability Engineer Certification preferredRequirements/QualificationsKnowledge of instrumentation, process controls (PLC’s), motors, starters, and VFD’sKnowledge of fluid systems (compressible and non-compressible), Vibration, Rotating equipmentComprehensive computer software knowledge required including; Excel, Word, Project, AutoCAD, and PowerPointProject management skillsKnowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibilityMust understand and comply with Lockout/Tagout procedure and safety requirementsAbility to exercise independent decision-making and prioritize conflicting demandsMust be willing to work cooperatively with plant and corporate personnelStrong communication, organizational, planning, and scheduling skillsAbility to teach on all levels (supervisory and hourly)Physical requirements: Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground), climb stairs/ladders up to 200 ft. in elevation, climb on equipment to provide supervision, walk long distances, stoop, crawl under and into enclosed spacesDrive automobile to various plant sites and work locations; must be able to travel overnight (air/auto)Possess and maintain a valid class C driver’s licensePreferred: Industrial plant experienceWorking knowledge of SAP ProductionExperience working with a union contractUnderstanding of state labor laws related to wage and hourMaintenance or Reliability Engineering experience preferredConditions of EmploymentSuccessful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
