Overview: The Housing Works Emergency & Transitional Housing Program (ETH) provides time limited transitional housing and support services to individuals reentering the community following periods of incarceration or other justice system involvement. Program participants engage in a variety of onsite services, including case management, vocational training, housing advocacy and mental health support that address barriers to accessing housing in the community and help build skills that participants can use to achieve and maintain stable functioning in the community.
Responsibilities: Provide overall administrative services support to the ETH Program site, monitor and maintain systems for inventory and supply ordering, ensure Human Resources, NYC, NYS or other governing agency notices and documents are updated and posted visibly in required areas, assist with coordinating staff schedules and coverage planning
Other functions that may be required with this position include: Responsiveness to emails, texts and phone calls, ability to arrive and depart timely in accordance with scheduled hours of operation
Requirements: High school diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred. Experience or passion for working with justice-involved or justice-impacted individuals, experience working in a congregate or shelter setting, strong written documentation and communication skills, good problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, required, experience utilizing EMR systems
Additional competencies: Preferably bi-lingual in Spanish, excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent or proficient technical skills to perform tasks related to Microsoft Office, email and case management systems, ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team, dependability and reliability to arrive and depart timely for scheduled shift, ability to lift 40lbs
