Quality Engineer The Quality Engineer is a key individual contributor responsible for monitoring quality performance against business objectives and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, process capability, and operational excellence. This role partners closely with Engineering and Operations to prevent defects, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Monitor and analyze quality metrics, trends, and KPIs to identify risks and improvement opportunities. Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation and evaluate process capability (Cp/Cpk) to ensure stable manufacturing processes. Develop, maintain, and update PFMEAs, control plans, and quality documentation. Lead and support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions (CAPA). Establish and execute containment and reaction plans for nonconforming or out-of-spec conditions. Manage nonconforming materials, including MRB and RMA activities. Support New Product Introduction (NPI), design transfers, and validation of inspection plans and process controls. Prepare and maintain PPAP packages, AS9102 First Article Inspection reports, customer qualifications, and compliance documentation. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific quality requirements. Participate in internal audits, customer audits, and supplier quality activities. Maintain accurate Quality Management System (QMS) records and documentation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, delivery, and operational performance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry environment. Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, medical device, or other highly regulated industries preferred. Strong knowledge of SPC, PFMEA, Control Plans, CAPA, MRB, PPAP, MSA/Gage R&R, FAI, and supplier quality processes. Proven experience supporting ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems, audits, and compliance activities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills. Effective project management, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, influence stakeholders, and drive initiatives to completion. Ability to balance customer requirements with business objectives while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
