This includes supervision of the operations, maintenance, and development of the historic farm and livestock, an equestrian center, three-disc golf courses, and camping & shelter rentals. The position works independently under the general supervision of the Parks Superintendent and is expected to exercise considerable initiative, judgment and diplomacy in the performance of their duties. This position will supervise full-time staff, part-time staff, and volunteers. This position may require working nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Responsibilities • Supervise and lead staff responsible for daily and long-term maintenance and operations across all Cedarock Park facilities, historic areas, recreation amenities, and public services. • Oversee the operation of specialized park features, including the equestrian center, historic farm, disc golf courses, playgrounds, retail shop, rentals, and special event spaces. • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate full-time staff, part-time staff, seasonal workers, and volunteers. • Develop, implement, and monitor operational standards, maintenance schedules, and procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. • Plan and manage departmental purchasing, including selecting, obtaining, and tracking equipment, tools, materials, and supplies within approved budget limits. • Conduct routine and preventative inspections of facilities, grounds, equipment, and structures, identifying repair needs and documenting work performed. • Perform and oversee routine carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs, while coordinating complex repairs with county maintenance or certified contractors. • Evaluate facility and infrastructure conditions, recommend repairs or replacements, and assist in planning future construction or improvement projects. • Operate and supervise the use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as tractors, backhoes, and utility vehicles for construction, repair, and grounds maintenance tasks. • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards by conducting safety meetings, maintaining required documentation, and reporting issues. • Support special events and athletic activities by coordinating logistics, transporting equipment, and assisting with event setup and breakdown. • Coordinate and manage facility rentals, public inquiries, and event bookings in collaboration with the Programs Superintendent. • Supervise and collaborate with vendors, subcontractors, and third-party service providers supporting construction, maintenance, and operational needs. • Perform administrative duties including preparing reports, budget proposals, maintaining files and work logs, responding to inquiries, and using office software to support daily operations and operational recommendations. *May perform other related duties as necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the County. Qualifications Associates degree in park administration, natural resources or related field, with experience in building and grounds maintenance, park operations or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Extended knowledge of the operation and maintenance of basic tools and outdoor park related machinery is also required. Customer service skills and basic computer skills required.
