We are seeking an experienced Wet Utility Project Manager to oversee underground utility construction projects, including water, sewer, storm drain, recycled water, and related infrastructure improvements. The Project Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, client relations, subcontractor coordination, and project safety.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and a proven ability to successfully deliver private utility projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with all contract requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage multiple wet utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.
- Coordinate field operations with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.
- Monitor project costs, productivity, and profitability.
- Prepare and negotiate change orders, requests for information (RFIs), and contract modifications.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, permits, environmental requirements, and safety regulations.
- Lead project meetings with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
- Track and process project billings, pay applications, and subcontractor payments.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Support company safety initiatives and foster a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience in underground utility or heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of water, sewer, storm drain, and pipeline construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Proficiency with project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects ranging from $1 million to $20+ million.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
