This opportunity is of great importance. The Senior Project Quantity Surveyor will be a key member of the Project Management Office, responsible for delivering robust cost planning, pricing, and commercial management across a portfolio of new and existing projects.This role will lead the development of RFQ (Request for Quotation) packs, support procurement activities, and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires strong commercial acumen and experience in managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects, with data centre and HVAC project exposure considered highly advantageous.How you will do itPrepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and pricing models for new projects.Review and validate feasibility studies, cost plans, and business casesProvide early-stage cost advice to support PM decision making.Lead the preparation and issuance of RFQ packs, including scope documents, pricing schedules, and commercial termsEnsure RFQs are clear, comprehensive, and aligned with project requirementsManage the tender process from issuance through to evaluationAnalyse contractor and supplier quotations, providing detailed commercial comparisons and recommendationsSupport contract award negotiations and supplier onboardingProject Cost ManagementMonitor and control costs across live projects, ensuring adherence to approved budgetsTrack commitments, expenditures, and forecast final project costsIdentify cost variances and implement corrective actionsProduce regular cost reports, dashboards, and financial insights for stakeholdersCommercial & Contract ManagementAdminister contracts, including managing variations, claims, and change eventsEnsure compliance with contractual obligations and internal governance standardsReview and certify contractor valuations and payment applicationsMaintain robust change control procedures and cost impact assessmentsWork closely with project managers, engineers, procurement, and finance teamsProvide commercial input into project planning, scheduling, and risk assessmentsSupport PMO governance by ensuring consistent cost reporting frameworksPresent financial updates and insights to senior stakeholdersRisk & Value ManagementIdentify commercial risks and opportunities across projectsQuantify financial exposure and develop mitigation strategiesPromote value engineering initiatives to optimise project delivery costsEnsure effective contingency managementWhat we look forEssentialDegree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related discipline7+ years’ relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost managementStrong experience in both new project pricing and live project cost controlProven experience developing RFQ/tender packages and managing procurement processesSolid understanding of contract formsAdvanced Excel and cost management system skillsStrong commercial, analytical, and reporting capabilitiesDesirableExperience in data centre, mission-critical, or HVAC/mechanical projectsProfessional accreditation (e.g., RICS, SCSI)Experience working within a PMO or portfolio delivery environmentFamiliarity with capital project governance frameworks#AVRIL#LI-Onsite
