Our high-growth, CPG HBC client is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven Supply Planner to own end-to-end supply planning across finished goods, components, and packaging. This role is responsible for translating demand forecasts into executable supply plans, ensuring product availability, and enabling the successful delivery of production plans while balancing service, cost, and working capital.
The Supply Planner will play a critical role in managing supplier performance, aligning material availability with production schedules, and proactively mitigating supply risks in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role partners cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Contract Manufacturers, and Logistics to ensure seamless supply execution.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supply Planning & Execution
? Own the end-to-end supply planning process for finished goods, components, and
packaging across multiple suppliers and contract manufacturers.
? Translate demand forecasts into rolling supply plans across all locations (3PLs, contract
manufacturers, and suppliers), managing purchase orders (POs) and work orders (WOs)
to support production and replenishment.
? Review and manage MRP outputs (planned orders, expedites, de-expedites,
cancellations) to ensure optimal supply plans aligned to service, cost, and inventory
targets.
? Define and manage inventory targets, safety stock strategies, and planning parameters
across all locations.
? Ensure inventory coverage supports demand and production requirements while
minimizing excess and stockout risk.
? Own tracking and management of Weeks of Supply (WOS) and overall inventory health
by SKU for all locations; proactively identify and mitigate potential shortages or excess.
Supplier & Material Planning
? Partner with Procurement to manage supplier performance, including KPIs, lead times,
MOQs, and capacity constraints in a dynamic supply environment.
? Ensure accuracy and support ongoing maintenance of supplier and item master data
(lead times, MOQ, min/max levels, BOM accuracy).
? Provide forward-looking forecasts and material requirements to suppliers and contract
manufacturers to ensure capacity alignment.
? Collaborate with Procurement and cross-functional teams on ongoing supplier
communication to monitor performance, address issues, and resolve constraints related
to materials, specifications, and supplier capacity.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
? Partner closely with Demand Planning to improve forecast accuracy and respond to
demand variability.
? Support S&OP processes by contributing insights on supply risks, constraints, and
inventory implications.
? Collaborate with Finance to align supply plans with working capital and cash flow
objectives.
? Support new product launches by ensuring timely availability of materials and finished
goods aligned to key milestones.
? Work with Procurement, Logistics, and Accounts Payable to resolve PO, shipment, and
payment discrepancies.
? Own excess & obsolete (E&O) inventory identification and mitigation, driving actions to
optimize inventory levels and improve overall inventory health and turns.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
? Own service level performance; conduct root cause analysis and implement mitigation
plans for supply gaps.
? Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities through order optimization, frequency
adjustments, and supplier strategies.
? Document planning processes and standard work; contribute to continuous improvement
initiatives.
? Support system enhancements, including ERP/MRP optimization, testing, and
implementation of planning tools.
QUALIFICATIONS
? Strong understanding of supply planning within supply chain operations, including
dependencies across demand planning, inventory, and procurement.
? Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (NetSuite or similar).
? Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
? Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into
actionable supply plans.
? Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage inputs from multiple stakeholders.
? Clear communication and presentation skills.
? Strong attention to detail with a high level of ownership and accountability.
? Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), beauty, personal care, or related
industries preferred.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
? Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field preferred (or
equivalent experience).
? 5+ years of experience in supply planning or broader supply chain planning within a
manufacturing environment.
? Experience working with S&OP and cross-functional planning processes.
? Experience supporting new product launches and lifecycle planning.
? Experience working with contract manufacturers and external suppliers preferred
