Trueline's client, a globally recognized professional services organization with a sophisticated legal practice, is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to support its M&A team in New York, NY. What You'll Do as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Prepare, revise, and format complex legal and transactional documents using Microsoft Word and related Office tools
- Proofread documents for accuracy, formatting consistency, and completeness
- Coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, conference calls, and travel arrangements
- Support attorneys through fast-moving corporate and transactional workflows
- Open new matters, assist with conflict checks, and maintain accurate client and matter records
- Handle time entry, expense reporting, and billing coordination
- Support file management, including records maintenance and file closing procedures
- Provide professional communication support for clients, attorneys, and internal teams
- Manage high-volume phone and email communications with discretion and responsiveness
- Collaborate closely with administrative team members to ensure seamless support coverage
- Assist with additional operational and administrative tasks as needed
Must-Haves as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of legal or high-level administrative support experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional environment
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
- Flexibility to work overtime as business needs require
Nice-to-Haves as the Legal Administrative Assistant:
- Prior experience supporting attorneys within an M&A, corporate, or transactional legal practice
- Experience working in a large law firm environment
