Locum Anesthesiologist Opportunity Richmond, Indiana Position Overview
Reid Health is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist for ongoing locum tenens coverage at its regional medical center in Richmond, Indiana. This is a weekday-only opportunity offering a diverse case mix, no night call, and no weekend responsibilities. Providers must be comfortable practicing independently across a broad range of anesthetic services and be willing to perform all required procedures from day one.

Preference will be given to providers who can cover multiple assignment blocks and have ongoing availability into 2027.
Case Mix & Clinical Responsibilities
This position requires proficiency in:
- General adult anesthesia
- Healthy pediatric anesthesia (patients as young as 6 months old)
- Obstetric anesthesia including epidurals, spinals, and C-sections
- Major vascular and interventional vascular procedures, including AAA repairs
- Cardiac cath lab procedures, including EP studies, ablations, structural heart procedures, ICDs, angioplasty, and stent placements
- Trauma cases
- Regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks
- Difficult airway management
- Central venous and arterial line placement
- Orthopedic, spine, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases
- Occasional NORA procedures
Typical Volumes
- Pediatric cases: Approximately 0 2 per day
- OB cases: Typically 1 5 labor epidurals or C-sections per week
- Pediatric case types include ENT, urology, and orthopedic procedures.
Practice Environment
- Independent practice model
- No CRNA supervision required
- Level III Trauma Center
- 220+ bed regional hospital
- Full cardiovascular program including open heart, EP, TAVR, and structural heart services

Candidate Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Certification obtained within 5 years of residency (if BE)
- Active Indiana medical license
- Active DEA and CSR
- Minimum 2 years of post-training experience preferred
- Clean background and NPDB history
- Ability to perform all required procedures and sign procedural attestation
- BLS required
- ACLS required if requesting conscious sedation privileges
- COVID and Flu vaccination (or approved exemption)
