Operating forklifts to load/unload raw materials and finished goods, ensuring safe and efficient warehouse operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work area
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Forklift Operation:
- Operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
- Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of forklifts
- Maintain clear visibility of the work area and ensure adequate clearance when raising, loading, and operating a forklift.
- Use horns at cross aisles and obstructed areas.
- Watch for pedestrians and observe speed limits.
Material Handling:
- Load, unload, pack, and unpack materials.
- Move materials within the warehouse or factory.
- Stack crates, pallets other materials.
- Pallet building and pallet picks.
- Move hazardous materials.
Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Report any damage to racks, equipment, or other safety hazards to the manager.
- Other Duties:
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience operating forklifts and other industrial vehicles is highly desirable.
Forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA certification) is often required.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
