Assistant Site Supervisor

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, responsible for the supervision of all site personnel and assistance with daily cleaning and maintenance of rest area facilities and grounds.
Essential duties and responsibilities include: supervising, managing, and directing rest area attendants, lead attendants, and sub-contractors under the general guidance of Site Supervisor/Area Manager; assisting in the training of site staff; acting as supervisor in the absences of the site supervisor or as directed by management; assisting with creating and maintaining employee work schedules; being the secondary emergency site contact for VDOT and USF Management; performing regular inspections of rest rooms and common areas for sanitation, cleanliness, order, malfunctioning equipment and safety; cleaning and maintaining rest room buildings (interior and exterior) and all areas of the grounds to include picnic areas, parking lots, pet rest areas, etc.; performing minor maintenance of facilities such as changing light bulbs or filters, etc.; identifying areas within the facility and grounds that need maintenance, repair, or replacement and working to correct any issues; greeting customers and assisting them with any questions or concerns; informing site supervisor of any hazardous environments and assisting in correcting any issues; creating a teamwork environment where mutual collaboration and idea sharing and problem solving from every level is encouraged; ensuring a safe working environment is established and maintained; creating, opening and updating work orders with (Insight) as needed; completing all required documentation and administrative tasks on a daily basis; understanding and being able to navigate basic computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Adobe; promoting a culture of safety to reduce and/or eliminate accidents and injuries; promoting a positive working environment where teamwork is the basis of all work performed; performing job in a professional manner with a strong work ethic in an effort to "lead by example"; and performing other duties as assigned.
Education/experience: high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Knowledge of applicable OSHA standards.
Requirements include: ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to lead, manage and direct employees; computer literacy (i.e. Microsoft Office); knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the maintenance and/or repair of buildings or other structures; ability to multi-task and complete assigned duties efficiently; professional appearance and manner; and ability to manage a variety of personality types without exhibiting stress.
