Position Summary
This role provides leadership for daily production operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance while meeting targets for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. This position leads supervisory staff, supports workforce development, and drives continuous improvement across all operational areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and delivery goals
- Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions to improve performance
- Develop and manage operational plans, budgets, and staffing levels
- Lead maintenance coordination to ensure equipment reliability and uptime
- Drive safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture
- Support inventory control, cycle counts, and material flow accuracy
- Lead lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, waste reduction, root cause analysis)
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, HR, and supply chain teams
- Oversee procurement planning for materials, services, and production support needs
- Support hiring, training, and development of supervisors and team members
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing or production leadership experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
- Ability to analyze data and drive operational improvements
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, climb, and move throughout a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Exposure to typical industrial conditions (noise, heat, dust, machinery)
- PPE required in production areas
