What you'll do:
- CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
- Hire, train, schedule, and oversee fleet maintenance staff.
- Approve and prioritize maintenance and repair work based on parts availability and operational needs.
- Coordinate and supervise work performed by outside vendors and service providers.
- Ensure all fleet vehicles and equipment are maintained, safe, and operating efficiently.
- Manage parts, tools, and supply inventory for the fleet shop.
- Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with developing and managing the maintenance department's operational budget.
What we're looking for:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- CDL Class B with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
- 5 plus years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy-duty or transit fleet vehicles.
- 3 plus years of supervisory experience in a fleet or transportation maintenance environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems for heavy-duty vehicles.
- Familiarity with laws and regulations related to safe fleet maintenance operations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
