Installer IV

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret the proper installation specifications for various construction projects.
- Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment.
- Design, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding.
- Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders.
- Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities.
- Have familiarity with specifications and drawings required to assemble and integrate telco transmission equipment into a Central Office environment.
- Utilize hand tools required for the installation of transmission equipment, including crimpers, wire wrap guns, strippers, wrenches, hammers, drills, stencils, etc.
- Inventory and transport tools/materials as required to the job site.
- Act in a supervisory manner and provide direction to lower-level installers on individual job progress, material shortages, customer complaints, and unsafe or inoperable tools.
- Establish and maintain a professional rapport with customers, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Maintain and provide accurate departmental paperwork as requested.
- Know all safety and security requirements and follow them implicitly; assist in maintaining a safe and hazard-free work area.
- Dress appropriately for the job environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and electronics training equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school, or equivalent as determined by Installation Manager.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Level II Central Office Installer.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and work within company-provided databases to update job statuses.
- Ability to lift tools and equipment as needed (minimum 10 lbs).
- Proficient in customer specifications and standards.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management, organize, plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and develop realistic action plans.
- Dependable; follow instructions, respond to management's direction, and keep commitments.
