Description
- Plan and schedule shift rosters to meet production needs, including coverage for vacations and absence
- Review and approve employee hours and time-off requests
- Supervise daily blow molding operations and ensure production targets are met
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 12–20 employees across 2nd shift
- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with Maintenance to reduce downtime
- Enforce safety procedures, conduct safety audits, and participate in incident investigations
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Lean, etc.)
- Manage labor and material usage to control costs and reduce waste
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and operational logs
- Support onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for production staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support plant-wide goals
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience in plastics or molding preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong understanding of material flow, tooling, and job changeovers
- Hands-on knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and industrial controls
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams in a high-volume environment
- Familiarity with safety regulations, lean manufacturing, and quality systems
- Strong communication, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skill
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with production tracking software, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.)
