Description: We are seeking a responsible and experienced baker with an eye for quality and a passion for precision to bake our scratch made bagels and other menu items. Core Responsibilities: Open the store each morning and organize product for efficient bake Organize, seed, season, and bake bagels for store opening Cook food items according to specified cooking methods, temperatures, and portion sizes to ensure optimal taste, texture and presentation Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients Maintain a clean and organized work area Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth, efficient service Ensure that all food items that leave your station meet Surf Bagel standards in terms of taste, appearance and portion size Participate in cleaning and maintenance tasks, including equipment cleaning, dishwashing, and kitchen organization to uphold cleanliness standards and ensure a safe working environment Requirements: Job Requirements: Arrive on time and be a responsible key holder Work independently and stay on task Must be able to lift 50lbs and stand for extended periods of time Troubleshoot issues quickly and have detailed understanding of equipment Utilize par sheets, waste logs, and maintain consistent communication with managers Take pride in final product and discard any items that don't meet Surf Bagel standards Useful qualifications: Proven experience working as a baker or in a similar culinary role Familiarity with operating and maintaining various kitchen equipment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet service demands and maintain a smooth workflow Strong focus on accuracy and precision to ensure consistency and quality Additional Info: Job Benefits: Fun, respectful, team oriented environment Free employee shift meal 25% discount when not working PTO + Sick days (subject to eligibility) Health insurance and 401k benefits (eligibility based on hours worked) Competitive wages plus shared tips Daily Pay available
