The VFX Supervisor is the technical bridge between ZenaTech's drone systems and modern production pipelines. This person advises productions on how ZenaTech drones can supplement or replace traditional visual effects — autonomous tracking shots, swarm visuals, and real-time aerial coverage — and ensures drone-captured footage integrates cleanly into post-production workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise productions on how ZenaDrone systems can supplement or replace traditional VFX work, including autonomous tracking shots, swarm visuals, and real-time aerial coverage
- Define and document integration workflows that move drone-captured footage cleanly into editorial and post-production pipelines
- Serve as the technical point of contact between Zena Studios, ZenaTech engineering, and external VFX houses or post facilities
- Develop demonstrations and proof-of-concept sequences that show productions what ZenaTech drone technology can deliver
- Support the BD Lead on technical scoping and feasibility for prospective production engagements
- Collaborate with the Drone DP to plan shots that maximize the creative and technical value of ZenaTech systems
- Stay current on VFX tooling, virtual production, and emerging capture technology, and recommend how ZenaTech should position against it
Required Qualifications
- Experience at a major or boutique VFX facility — for example ILM, Weta, or an established LA VFX house
- Strong working knowledge of modern VFX and post-production pipelines (compositing, tracking, virtual production)
- Ability to translate between creative requirements and technical capability
- Understanding of camera, lensing, and on-set data workflows
- Comfortable presenting technical concepts to non-technical production stakeholders
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with drone or aerial capture footage in a VFX context
- Familiarity with ROS2, autonomous flight systems, or robotics-driven cinematography
- Virtual production / LED-volume experience.
