Akkodis is seeking an Editorial Research Specialist for a 6-month contract with a client located in Atlanta, GA.
Location: Atlanta, GA 30318, Remote
Duration: 6 Months Contract + Possible Extension
Pay Range: $35-$37 per hour, paid on a W-2 basis. The rate may be negotiable based on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
What We Do/Project
CNN's Editorial Research team provides investigative research for all platforms across CNN Worldwide. We are seeking a freelance Editorial Research Specialist to support this dynamic team.
Job Responsibilities / Typical Day in the Role
• Delivers complex, deadline-driven research to meet the needs of staff across CNN.
• Produces and maintains editorial research materials that are easily accessible and support editorial teams for use in text, video, audio, newsletters, and repeatable digital formats.
• Collaborates with documentary groups on long-form investigative projects.
• Acts proactively during breaking news by compiling relevant research for use across platforms and anticipating research needs across teams.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
1) Master's degree in Library or Information Science.
2) Experience providing research in a corporate, academic, or legal setting is required.

1) Journalism experience
Soft Skills:
1) Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

4) Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a strong client-service orientation.
5) Excellent knowledge of current events, keen editorial judgment, and strong skills in data interpretation and analysis.
Technology Requirements:
1) Familiarity with primary source materials, as well as subject-specific databases and secondary aggregators such as LexisNexis and Factiva.
Education / Certifications
1) Master's degree in Library or Information Science.
