Fiber Telecommunications Infrastructure Laborer
The Laborer supports the construction, installation, and maintenance of Fiber telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves physical labor, equipment handling, and assisting crews in the field. A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required to transport equipment, materials, and crew safely to job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of Fiber communication systems (cell towers, antennas, cables, and ground equipment)
- Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites
- Operate company vehicles, including CDL-class trucks, in a safe and compliant manner
- Support crews with ground operations (site prep, cleanup, etc.)
- Perform basic construction tasks such as digging, trenching, concrete work, and site restoration
- Follow safety protocols, including OSHA standards and fall protection guidelines
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working condition
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain
- Travel to job sites as required (may include overnight stays)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Class A or B, depending on employer needs)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and perform physically demanding work
- Willingness to work at heights and in outdoor environments
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in telecommunications, construction, or utility work
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., skid steer, bucket truck)
- Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) equipment and cabling
- CPR/First Aid certification
Work Environment
- Outdoor job sites, including rooftops and remote tower locations
- Exposure to weather, heights, and construction-related hazards
- Frequent travel required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift for extended periods
- Comfortable working at heights (when required)
- Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment
