POSITION TITLE: Lead Custodial Supervisor STATUS: Full Time, 12-month, 40-hour work week FLSA STATUS: x Exempt Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities Services HUMAN RESOURCES x Approved Not Approved Starting at $65,000.00 annually with standard benefits. This will be prorated based on the start date. This position works 8 hours per day and a 260-day school calendar. Full medical, dental and vision benefits for employees. POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the Director of Facilities Services with the necessary intermediate management and focus for the custodial department with standard operation procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Centralized Operations & Standards:
- Develop, document, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all cleaning tasks, equipment uses, and safety protocols across the entire district
- Establish and manage a centralized supply purchasing strategy, developing vendor relationships, and optimizing inventory management to achieve cost savings
Supervision & Accountability:
- Provide direct, focused management and mentorship to the four existing Custodial Supervisors
- Implement a formalized quality control (QC) inspection program for all campuses to ensure compliance with SOPs and address service complaints proactively
- Create a consistent accountability framework for employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions
Training & Scheduling:
- Design and implement a comprehensive, centralized training program for all new hires and existing staff, focusing on safety, efficiency, and professional development
- Develop a strategic, centralized scheduling system to ensure fair workload distribution and effective coverage, especially during periods of high vacancies
Communication & Liaison:
- Act as a secondary point of communication between the custodial department and school principals, relieving the Director of Facilities from daily issues but resolving service issues at a higher level and ensuring campus leadership is informed
- Provide regular, concise performance reports and operational updates to the Director of Facilities Services
- Legally and safely operate a district motor vehicle as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Ability to create and adjust employee schedules to ensure proper coverage for daily tasks and special events
- Ability to develop a training program for instructing new and existing employees on proper cleaning procedures, safety standards, and the use of equipment
- Ability to develop and implement quality control measures to ensure that all tasks meet established standards for cleanliness and safety
- Ability to monitor supply levels, order new materials, and manage budget constraints
- Ability to plan for equipment maintenance and replacement

- Ability to provide direct supervision to other employees to ensure they are meeting their assigned goals

- Proficiency in using and maintaining a variety of custodial equipment, including floor buffers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and pressure washers.
- Skill in performing minor repairs to equipment and fixtures, with the ability to identify when more complex repairs by a specialist are necessary.
- Strong time management and the ability to organize resources and prioritize tasks are critical for handling multiple responsibilities efficiently

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or GED is the minimum requirement, with post-secondary education or equivalent training in supervision and management being desirable
- Minimum 3 years' prior custodial operations supervisory experience, in a school or similar environment preferred
- Possess a valid driver's license and maintain the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Within district buildings
- Outside of school buildings, including in inclement weather
- Must be flexible, able to report to various school sites and when necessary, various shifts or days of the week, including weekends and evenings
- This position is very active and requires the physical ability to enable standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, sitting, talking, hearing, twisting, reaching, and lifting throughout each shift
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform cleaning tasks for extended periods. Candidates must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 75 pounds), climb ladders, and operate heavy cleaning equipment
