We're partnering with an industry leader in robotic storage and sample handling systems used by life sciences organizations around the world. This is an opportunity to join a small, highly technical R&D team where you'll have a direct impact on product development and next-generation hardware design.
This is not a traditional facilities or power engineering role. We're looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer who enjoys solving real-world hardware problems and working across PCB design, system integration, troubleshooting, and custom automation projects.
What You'll Be Doing
• Design and modify board-level electrical schematics (OrCAD preferred, Altium or similar acceptable)
• Troubleshoot and test digital and power electronics
• Support sustaining engineering, product redesigns, and new product development
• Work with motors, sensors, power supplies, communications hardware, and automation components
• Collaborate with embedded software and FPGA engineers
• Support custom customer-specific system designs
• Participate in occasional field troubleshooting (approximately 10% travel)
What We're Looking For
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of electrical product development experience
• PCB schematic design experience
• Strong hardware troubleshooting skills using oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other lab equipment
• Experience working with automation equipment, instrumentation, robotics, or complex electromechanical products
• Comfortable working in a small, cross-functional engineering environment
Nice to Have
• OrCAD, Altium, or similar PCB design tools
• Motion control, motors, drives, and encoders
• Fieldbus communications
• Exposure to embedded systems, FPGA interfaces, or C/C++
• SolidWorks Electrical or enclosure design experience
• Life sciences, laboratory automation, or scientific instrumentation background
