Construction Manager - Data Center
Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Compensation: Up to $200,000 base salary + 20% annual bonus

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the execution of mission-critical infrastructure and data center construction projects in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is responsible for managing all phases of construction delivery, from project inception through commissioning and operational handover, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The Construction Manager will oversee contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders while maintaining strong financial controls, project governance, and risk management practices. This position requires a highly collaborative leader who can successfully manage complex projects in a fast-paced, technically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Construction Management
- Lead construction activities for new facility developments, campus expansions, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage projects through planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, commissioning, and turnover.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and execution plans.
- Ensure project objectives are achieved while meeting cost, schedule, quality, and operational requirements.
- Coordinate activities among architects, engineers, contractors, commissioning agents, and equipment suppliers.
Site Leadership & Field Operations
- Direct day-to-day construction site operations and contractor performance.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Lead project meetings, site walks, and progress reviews.
- Resolve field issues and drive timely decision-making to maintain project momentum.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, design intent, and construction standards.
Budget & Cost Management
- Manage capital project budgets from project authorization through closeout.
- Review and approve contractor invoices, change orders, and payment applications.
- Track project expenditures and forecast financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Maintain financial accountability and reporting accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Vendor & Contractor Management
- Select, manage, and evaluate general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Negotiate scopes of work and support contract administration activities.
- Build strong relationships with key vendors and project partners.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety, quality, and performance expectations.
- Drive accountability and ensure contract obligations are fulfilled.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture across all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, regulations, environmental requirements, and company standards.
- Conduct quality reviews and inspections throughout project execution.
- Manage project risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and project controls are maintained.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, operations, leadership, and external partners.
- Provide regular project status updates to senior management.
- Coordinate closely with operations, procurement, security, network infrastructure, and engineering teams.
- Support commissioning, testing, and operational readiness activities.
- Facilitate successful project handover to facility operations teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 7+ years of construction management experience overseeing large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar capital construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external contractors.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with project scheduling and construction management software.
