Location: San Ramon, CA
Compensation: $45–55/hr
Duration: 6-month contract
This role supports a large-scale Transmission Digital Twin initiative focused on building and validating high-fidelity models of transmission infrastructure. Engineers in this position are responsible for ensuring model accuracy, completeness, and engineering integrity across full-system PLS-CADD models supporting grid modernization efforts.
This is a QA/QC-focused engineering role where you'll apply strong technical judgment to review complex 3D models and ensure they are ready for downstream engineering analysis including sag, tension, and clearance validation.
What you'll be doing:
• Perform QA/QC reviews of full-system PLS-CADD transmission models
• Validate model accuracy, completeness, and engineering readiness
• Review sag, tension, and clearance analysis requirements
• Identify modeling gaps, inconsistencies, and potential risks
• Provide actionable feedback and drive corrections with modeling teams
• Track issues, add comments, and support reporting workflows
• Contribute to accept/reject decisions on model deliverables
• Interpret LiDAR-integrated models to ensure accurate terrain and asset representation
• Support high-volume review cycles with consistent, detail-oriented output
What we're looking for:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering
• Hands-on PLS-CADD experience (modeling or review)
• Experience reviewing or validating transmission models
• Background in QA/QC, design review, or model validation environments
• Understanding of transmission infrastructure, including sag, tension, and clearance concepts
Nice to have:
• Experience with PLS-CADD Method 4 (M4) models
• Familiarity with lattice towers, tubular steel poles, or transmission structures
• Exposure to LiDAR workflows or utility environments
This is an ideal opportunity for engineers who enjoy detailed model review and quality-focused work supporting large-scale grid modernization initiatives.
