Quality Calibration Technician
Eaton's GEIS division is currently seeking a Quality Calibration Technician. This position is based out of our Syracuse, NY location.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $47000 - $69000 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You'll Do
Position Overview: The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and proper documentation of inspection equipment used across the Syracuse manufacturing facility. This role maintains both the electronic database and hard-copy calibration records, performs in-house calibration activities, and applies appropriate labeling and documentation updates. The technician supports production teams, other Eaton facilities, and External Providers by supplying job-specific inspection tools as needed.
Key responsibilities include coordinating all third-party calibration activities, from obtaining quotes to issuing purchase orders and scheduling services—along with training employees on proper equipment care and use. The role also generates and distributes routine calibration status reports and actively supports the site's Quality Management System through participation in internal and external audits.
• Maintain the specific databases for all necessary inspection equipment.
• Maintain hard copy calibration certification files for master inspection equipment.
• Perform in-house calibration, affix calibration stickers and update records of inspection equipment.
• Support production personnel by providing job specific inspection equipment.
• Support other Eaton facilities and External Providers by providing job specific inspection equipment.
• Coordinate third-party calibration services including, but not limited to, request quotes, generating purchase orders, and scheduling calibration services.
• Conduct employee training on the proper use and care of inspection equipment.
• Generate and distribute periodic reports regarding calibration statuses.
• Support the site Quality Management System by participating in internal and external audits as required.
• Perform other related general duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• High School diploma / GED from an accredited institution
• Minimum two (2) years of quality experience within a manufacturing, production, or operations environment.
No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of (Syracuse, NY) to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015.
• Experience repairing common metrology tools.
• Experience with SAP business system experience.
• Experience with GAGE Trak or other calibration management software.
• Experience with Microsoft Office platforms.
• Experience within a Union environment.
