Mechanical Designer

A direct-hire opportunity is available for a Mechanical Designer / CREO Drafter supporting a nuclear/DOE engineering and manufacturing program in Oak Ridge, TN.
This role will support a design engineering team responsible for creating detailed mechanical models, drawings, and production-ready documentation for highly technical equipment and components. The position requires strong CREO drafting/design experience and the ability to work closely with mechanical engineers to translate design intent into manufacturable drawings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and detail mechanical models and drawings using CREO
• Manage design data, drawing revisions, and documentation in Windchill
• Apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards to production-ready drawings
• Work closely with mechanical and design engineers to support design intent and manufacturability
• Support multiple engineering sub-projects tied to equipment, component design, and manufacturing needs
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field implementation teams
Required Qualifications:
• Mechanical drafting/design experience
• Strong CREO / Creo Parametric experience
• Windchill or comparable PLM experience
• Working knowledge of GD&T / ASME Y14.5
• Ability to create detailed mechanical drawings independently
• U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active DOE Q clearance
• Prior nuclear, DOE, defense, aerospace, or regulated manufacturing experience
• Experience supporting full-lifecycle engineering teams
• Strong understanding of manufacturability and mechanical component design
