Bottle Technician - Small Bottle Filling Lines

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong focus on high-speed bottling or packaging? PrideStaff is seeking a skilled professional to ensure the optimal performance of small bottle filling lines for our client in Alvin, TX. The ideal candidate has proven, hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting within a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Bottle Technician will be primarily responsible for the upkeep and reliability of all equipment associated with the small bottle filling and packaging lines.
Essential Functions:
- Preventative Maintenance (PM): Execute scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) and work orders on all production line equipment, including fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, and auxiliary systems (e.g., air compressors, chillers).
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Perform timely and in-depth troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
- Line Changeovers & Setup: Execute efficient equipment changeovers, adjustments, and setup for different product runs, bottle sizes, and packaging formats to ensure quick line start-up and minimal downtime.
- System Diagnostics: Utilize computerized diagnostic tools and PLC input/output cards to diagnose and resolve complex electrical/mechanical faults on automated systems.
- Quality & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), safety regulations (OSHA), and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), particularly in a food, beverage, or pharmaceutical environment.
- Inventory & Documentation: Complete required work order documentation, maintain accurate records of repairs, document parts and material usage, and assist in managing the spare parts inventory.
- Continuous Improvement: Propose and implement solutions for reoccurring problems, participate in root cause analysis, and support continuous improvement projects to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Training and Guidance: Provide technical guidance and training to machine operators on proper equipment handling, basic troubleshooting, and minor maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on maintenance/mechanic experience in a manufacturing or production environment, focus on small bottle filling lines, high-speed bottling, or packaging lines (preferred).
- Technical Expertise: Proficient in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics (electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic) and technical manuals.
- Tool Proficiency: Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) and all common hand and power tools.
- Safety Focus: Strong commitment to safety protocols and adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Work Ethic: Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
