We are partnering with an established, growing construction and energy infrastructure company seeking an experienced Construction Estimator for an onsite role based in Clearwater, Florida. This individual will support project estimating and preconstruction efforts by reviewing plans, specifications, and related project documents; gathering subcontractor and vendor pricing; preparing detailed project estimates; and supporting the team throughout the preconstruction and project award process.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs from plans, drawings, and specifications
- Review project documentation to gain a clear understanding of scope, requirements, and potential cost impacts
- Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes and clearly define scopes of work
- Prepare detailed project estimates, cost breakdowns, and supporting documentation
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, customers, and internal teams throughout the estimating process
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed
- Support vendor and subcontractor selection, negotiation, and buyout
- Coordinate with construction leadership regarding scheduling, capacity, and project requirements
- Work with project managers to help ensure awarded projects are managed against estimated value
- Monitor cost trends, material pricing, labor availability, and market volatility
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing project and cost information
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key subcontractors, suppliers, and customers
- Support additional estimating and preconstruction assignments as needed
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction estimating experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project scope, and cost estimating
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and bid documents
- Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and internal project teams
- Strong computer skills and ability to work within estimating or project management systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and handle multiple projects at once
- Strong attention to detail and ability to develop accurate, realistic estimates
- Customer-focused, professional, and collaborative approach
- Experience in fueling, energy infrastructure, commercial construction, industrial construction, or related industries is a plus
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated estimator who can take ownership of the estimating process, communicate effectively with internal and external partners, and produce accurate, detailed estimates in a fast-paced construction environment. This person should be comfortable reviewing technical documents, coordinating with multiple stakeholders, and supporting projects from pre-bid through award and handoff.
