Material Handler
Pay: $16-18/hour
Shift: 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM 10-hour days, 50 hours/week
Additional Overtime: Voluntary OT on Sunday, up to 5 hours
Lunch: 30-minute unpaid
Looking for Material Handlers! Staffing Inc is hiring 1st shift Material Handlers. Great opportunity for hands-on manufacturing experience in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect products to verify conformance to customer specifications.
- Complete progress report identify the job and the starting time
- Review the work order for special instructions
- Assure the set-up is correct for the job
- Assure the station layout, tags and labels are appropriate for the job
- Complete sign-off checklist and have it signed by the appropriate person
- Inspect parts assure patents and margins are correct with no blotches
- Perform hand manipulation when required peeling waste off the part
- Rework, repair, and replace damaged parts or assemblies.
- Set and verify parts clearances.
- Verify conformance of parts using measuring instruments such as punch box or templates.
- Cut trim parts for assembly.
- Examine completed workpieces for defects such as chipped edges and marred surfaces.
- Set up, operate, or tend machines to slit or punch material.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing or machine operator experience preferred
- Reliable and detail-oriented
- Must pass drug screen and background check
- Must have reliable transportation, not including bus line
Physical Demands:
- This position involves sitting for long periods of time
- Lifting capability of up to 25-50 lbs.
- Constant upper body movement, including use of arms and hands, bending and twisting.
