In this role, you will report to the site services supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.
Hourly Rate: $17.00
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6 am - 3 pm, 1 hour lunch

What we're looking for
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required
Experience: 0 - 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, laboratory, or similar materials-handling environment
Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred
No prior laboratory-specific experience required; on-the-job training provided
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently
Basic reading and math skills sufficient to verify item counts, read labels, and complete activity logs
Ability to use a handheld scanner or tablet device for inventory tracking (training provided)
Familiarity with standard material handling equipment (hand carts, dollies) or willingness to learn
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds (23kg) with or without assistance.
Stand and walk for extended periods across a customer facility.

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
In this role you will:
Inventory Replenishment and Stocking
Restock designated lab supply areas, storerooms, and point-of-use locations according to established par levels and replenishment schedules
Retrieve materials from receiving or central stock areas and transport to assigned delivery zones using hand carts or standard material handling equipment
Verify item quantities and product identifiers against replenishment lists prior to placing stock
Rotate stock using first-in, first-out (FIFO) methodology to minimize expiration and waste
Flag discrepancies between physical counts and system records to the supervisor immediately
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all assigned stocking areas at all times
Direct-to-Bench Delivery
Execute scheduled and ad hoc direct-to-bench deliveries of lab consumables, reagents, and production materials to end users
Confirm delivery acceptance with the recipient and document completed deliveries in the designated tracking log or system
Handle temperature-sensitive, fragile, or hazardous materials in strict accordance with client and Avantor handling procedures
Communicate expected delivery windows to lab staff when schedule changes occur
Return undeliverable items to the correct holding location and notify the supervisor with documentation
Maintain a clean and organized delivery cart; inspect for damage before and after each delivery route
Cycle Counting and Inventory Accuracy
Perform assigned cycle counts on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule as directed by the supervisor
Record count results accurately using paper logs or electronic inventory management systems (as applicable)
Report count variances exceeding defined thresholds to the supervisor; do not adjust records independently
Support periodic physical inventory events by counting, organizing, and labeling stock as instructed
Maintain familiarity with product catalog items used at the assigned site to improve count accuracy
Receiving and Inbound Processing Support
Assist in receiving inbound shipments by verifying item count and external packaging condition against packing slips
Stage received materials in the designated receiving area and notify the responsible team member upon completion
Apply location labels and asset tags to newly received items as directed
Escalate damaged, incorrect, or unexpected shipments to the supervisor without delay
Maintain a clean and organized receiving area at all times
Records and Activity Reporting
Complete all required activity logs, delivery records, and cycle count documentation accurately and on time
Communicate daily task completion status and any exceptions to the Site Supervisor at the end of each shift
Record service level data (deliveries completed, items stocked, counts performed) as required by site reporting formats
Maintain legible, complete records that support client-facing service level reporting
Notify the supervisor promptly if unable to complete assigned tasks within the scheduled timeframe
Safety and Compliance
Follow all client site safety rules, Avantor standard operating procedures, and government requirements at all times
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas without exception
Participate in all required safety training, including chemical handling, ergonomics, and emergency procedures
Report any unsafe conditions, near-misses, or incidents to the supervisor immediately
Handle hazardous materials only in accordance with the site-specific protocols
Keep all work areas free of clutter, spills, and trip hazards throughout the shift
Equipment and Facility Care
Operate hand carts, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment safely and only after completing required training
Inspect assigned equipment at the start of each shift and report any damage or malfunctions to the supervisor before use
Return all equipment to its designated storage location at the end of each shift
Follow client facility access and badging protocols at all times
Team Collaboration and Communication
Participate in daily team huddles or shift briefings as scheduled
Support peer associates during high-volume periods or when cross-coverage is needed
Escalate unresolved client questions or requests to the supervisor rather than providing independent responses outside of scope
Maintain a professional and service-oriented demeanor with all client facility staff at all times
