Position: Material Handler
Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m. 2:30 p.m., 1st shift schedule!! Starting wage is $17.00 per hour
Material Handler is responsible for the controlled flow of all manufacturing materials from time of delivery until it is utilized in production. Compiles receiving and stocking information for reporting purposes. Requires active participation in team meetings, problem solving and data collection.
Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload material from delivery trucks via hand and forklift
- Report damaged shipments to Warehouse Supervisor
- Audit quantities received when specified or requested
- Assign stock and bin locations to inventory items
- Pull stock and provide materials to production
- Maintain the designated stock area and perform general equipment maintenance
- Move discrepant material to a segregated area
- Perform cycle counts, stock counts and quantity verifications
- Actively participate in team problem solving, process improvement and decision making
- Advise purchasing when supplies are needed.
- Supply Team Leader with reports and documents are requested
- Provide assembly support to the Production team when needed
- Comply and assist with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and the pursuit of continuous improvement
- Complete special assignments as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor
- Perform packaging/shipping duties
Material Handler Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma
- All positions require good math skills, strong attention to detail and great attendance. Candidates must also be comfortable standing for the duration of the shift.
- Forklift experience desired.
Required education, skills, abilities, and experience:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED
- Prior shipping and receiving experience preferred but NOT required.
- Experience using inventory control systems/ERP systems preferred but NOT required.
- Forklift experience desired, but NOT required.
- Basic math and organizational skills
- Ability to bend and lift 50 pounds
- All positions require good math skills, strong attention to detail and great attendance. Candidates must also be comfortable standing for the duration of the shift.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills are essential
