We are seeking an experienced Data Conversion Lead to lead the design and execution of complex data migrations from legacy Medicaid systems to modern platforms. This role plays a critical part in ensuring data accuracy, continuity of operations, and regulatory compliance during large-scale system transitions.
This is a fully remote position. Requires 25% travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of complex software applications from business requirements in collaboration with other team members
Investigate new solutions, tools, products, and techniques to incorporate into coding standards.
Troubleshoot complex issues and produce detailed proposals to resolve.
Support testing and remediate defects
Guide, coach, and mentor entry and mid-level developers
Key Responsibilities
Lead end to end Medicaid data conversion efforts, including planning, design, development, testing, and execution
Establish conversion strategies for migrating data between Medicaid systems while minimizing operational risk
Provide technical leadership to development teams
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for conversion-related decisions and issue resolution
Development & Technical Execution
Design and develop data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL/ELT) processes for large, complex datasets
Develop transformation logic to map legacy Medicaid data models to target system structures
Ensure conversion programs follow coding standards, performance expectations, and security practices
Review code, validate transformation rules, and oversee defect remediation
Optimize conversion performance to support high volume Medicaid datasets
Medicaid Domain Expertise
Lead conversion of core Medicaid data domains
Ensure conversions meet CMS, state Medicaid, and contractual requirements
Support regulatory, audit, and certification activities related to converted data
Testing, Validation & Reconciliation
Define and oversee data validation, reconciliation, and sign off processes
Partner with business, compliance, and QA teams to confirm completeness and accuracy
Ensure converted data supports downstream reporting, operations, and compliance needs
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related field
7-10 years of relevant professional experience required
Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Program Specific Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of hands‑on development experience, with significant experience leading data conversions
Strong experience working with Medicaid data and healthcare systems
Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
Experience building ETL/ELT processes using custom code or integration tools
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Program Specific Preferences
Experience migrating data between state Medicaid systems platforms
Experience supporting system certification, readiness reviews, or go live activities
