Warehouse Associate
The Warehouse Associate plays a key role in preparing, shipping, receiving, and organizing inventory within a clean, well-organized distribution center. This position operates Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and focuses on ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe movement of goods using a variety of warehouse equipment and tools.
Responsibilities
- Prepare shipments for postal or commercial carriers by determining the most economical and efficient shipping method and selecting appropriate shipping containers.
- Pack items securely to ensure safe delivery and prevent damage during transit.
- Prepare bills of lading and verify that items to be shipped match work orders, including quantities, destinations, and routing.
- Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips with purchase orders to verify the accuracy of shipments.
- Sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and log inventory for both incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Use scan guns, RF scanners, pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, tow motors, forklifts (sit-down and stand-up), reach trucks, and other material handling equipment to move and track inventory.
- Perform order picking and order selecting to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, including large box trucks, as needed to support shipping and receiving operations.
- Assist with inventory control and inventory management by accurately tracking stock levels and updating records using data entry and computer systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with distribution center standards and safety guidelines.
- Handle general labor tasks related to material handling, packaging, shrink wrapping, and preparing orders for shipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure orders are processed and shipped on time to customers.
Essential Skills
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes, including preparing shipments, bills of lading, and verifying orders against work orders and purchase orders.
- Proficiency in order picking, order selecting, and packing items for safe and accurate delivery.
- Hands-on experience using RF scanners, RF scan guns, and scan guns to track and manage inventory.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, tow motors, sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks.
- Strong inventory control and inventory management skills, including sorting, counting, logging, and labeling inventory.
- Basic computer skills and data entry abilities to update inventory records and shipping documentation.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining positive relationships with team members, leadership, and internal partners.
- Capability to handle average-weight objects up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and lift up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Comfort working in environments with moderate exposure to elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, and dust.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when checking quantities, destinations, and routing information for shipments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience driving large box trucks is preferred and considered a strong asset.
- Prior experience in a distribution center, warehouse inventory, or general labor environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for various types of trucks and trailers.
- Comfort using shrink wrap, box cutters, and other packaging tools and equipment.
- Ability to adapt to established processes and contribute to a well-organized, safety-focused operation.

The environment may involve moderate exposure to elements like extreme temperatures, dirt, and dust, while maintaining strong safety standards throughout the distribution center.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
