Program DurationOur internship program runs approximately 40 hours per week, from June 1st through mid-August. This role is based in Eagan, MN and requires at least 2 days per week on-site.
The Impact You Will HaveBlue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota is hiring a BI Analytics Intern for Summer 2026. In this role, you will apply knowledge of mathematics, statistics, and reporting to operations data. You will generate and report data used for day-to-day operations and support various teams including Operations, Government Programs, Finance, and Provider Relations. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in BI Analytics while working on real-world projects that directly impact our business and members.
Your Responsibilities- Develop plans, analyze data, and report results to a senior analyst to support informed decision-making.
- Assist in designing and building strategic, actionable insights using visual analytics tools.
- Prepare reports and analysis to identify and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Support the development of reporting programs using various reporting and analytic tools, integrating multiple data sources.
- Collaborate with team members on using data in new and innovative ways.
Required Skills and Experiences - To be considered for this internship, you must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be enrolled in an educational program for the duration of the internship.
- Completed at least one year (2 semesters or credits equivalent) by the start of the internship.
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong customer service orientation.
- Willingness to take initiative and learn new concepts and technical skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, including being on-site at least 2 days per week.
Preferred Skills and Experiences- Coursework in Modeling/Data Visualization, Financial Analytics, or Marketing Analytics.
- Experience with Databricks, PowerBI, SSRS, SSMS, SSIS, or SQL queries.
- Strong interest in Data Analytics.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical information.

Compensation and Benefits:Pay Range: $25.00 - $26.25 - $27.50 Hourly
