Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
The successful candidate shall demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities, knowledge of State contracting policies, rules, laws and procedures, especially California Government Code Section 4525-4529 and California Code of Regulations Title 23, Sections 380-391 governing A&E contracts, experience with invoices, strong written and verbal communication, well developed analytical, problem solving, and research skills, ability to pay close attention to detail and meet deadlines, excellent attendance, excellent interpersonal skills and an interest in learning about various divisions within the Department and their respective missions. Knowledge of personal computers and the standard suite of Microsoft Office software programs is highly desirable, including detailed formatting of documents using MS Word. The applicant should possess the ability to work independently or in a team setting, take initiative, assume a high level of responsibility, and exercise good judgment and experience maintaining a database and running queries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.
