Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer Location: Salem, NH Schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Pay: $38–$42/hour Duration: 6–9 Month Contract-to-Perm Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to support incoming inspection, engineering, and new product introduction (NPI) activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring the quality and integrity of complex machined components received from external suppliers. Hands-on experience with OGP SmartScope optical systems and/or Laser Tracker technology is a major plus and will set candidates apart. Key Responsibilities Program and operate CMM equipment and advanced measurement systems Perform feature-level inspections on complex machined parts Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications, including GD&T Document inspection results and determine acceptance or rejection of material Create quality notifications and nonconformance reports for discrepant material Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities as needed Interface with quality, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers Accept conforming material and process quality documentation in ERP systems Maintain calibration and qualification of inspection tools as required Perform sorting, tagging, or labeling of parts when necessary Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow all quality and safety procedures Equipment & Tools Used Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) – Brown & Sharpe Global Advantage OGP SmartScope optical measurement systems (highly preferred) API Radian Laser Tracker (highly preferred) Mechanical inspection tools: calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread and pin gages Additional inspection tools such as profilometers and spectrophotometers Required Skills & Qualifications Strong background in precision inspection and metrology Proficiency reading and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5 Experience inspecting parts from prints and 3D models Ability to analyze inspection data and clearly document results Experience programming measurement equipment using: PC-DMIS Spatial Analyzer Measure-X Zone3 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/PLM systems (SAP, Agile preferred) Education & Experience Associate’s degree with 5+ years of precision inspection and CMM programming experience preferred Technical high school diploma or equivalent technical certifications considered Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and sitting as required Frequent computer and keyboard use Must maintain regular, punctual attendance Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
