Position DescriptionJob Summary: Peckham's paid Internship Program is designed to add practical, relevant experience to your field of study while welcoming you into our family by choice culture. As a Materials Intern, you will:
- Assist with day-to-day quarry operations, including exposure to drilling, blasting preparation, mobile equipment operations, and plant startup/shutdown procedures under supervision.
- Support plant operations and maintenance activities by observing and assisting with preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, conveyor and screen operations, and general plant cleanup.
- Participate in quality control processes, including product sampling, required quarry testing, and documentation of results to support consistent product quality.
- Assist maintenance teams with basic mechanical tasks, including welding and cutting procedures, equipment repairs, and scheduling maintenance activities to improve plant availability.
- Gain exposure to sales and customer service functions by learning product applications, supporting the sales process, and interacting with plant customers as appropriate.
- Support administrative and office functions, including scale system operation, paperwork flow, reporting, purchase orders, work orders, and requisitions.
- Assist district and divisional office teams with business operations such as capital planning, accounting codes, procurement, environmental compliance, and technical services.
- Participate in leadership development activities, including project management, team collaboration, meeting participation, and presentations to plant or divisional leadership.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies while working in quarry, plant, and office environments.
Majors applicable to this internship opportunity include Business Management, Business Administration, Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, and other engineering majors.

Position RequirementsRequirements, Education and Experience:1. Excellent Attendance and Punctuality.
2. You are responsible for your own housing and reliable transportation.
3. Strict adherence to all safety protocol, OSHA safety rules and regulation required.
4. Current enrollment at an accredited college or university with a 3.0 or higher GPA
