Role Summary
The EDI Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing electronic data interchange (EDI) integrations between SPR and its business partners. This role ensures reliable, secure, and efficient data exchange to improve operational accuracy, reduce processing costs, and support scalable digital business operations. The position combines technical EDI expertise, partner coordination, systems troubleshooting, and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Design, implement, monitor, and maintain EDI integrations between internal systems and external trading partnersProvide technical guidance and issue resolution support for EDI-related partner and internal requestsDevelop, maintain, and optimize EDI translation maps, business process models, and trading partner configurationsDeliver second-level EDI support to internal IT teams and business unitsEnsure data accuracy, system reliability, and adherence to EDI standards (X12)Systems & Platform Management
Archive and manage EDI-related files and maintain supporting SQL databasesConfigure and maintain UNIX scripts and Java brokers for file movement and system automationMonitor EDI systems for errors, failures, or performance risks and proactively resolve issuesSupport and troubleshoot EDI communication protocols and network connectionsPartner & Integration Support
Coordinate onboarding of new trading partners, including non-standard EDI implementationsConfigure and support subsidiary EDI interfacesCollaborate with external partners to troubleshoot data and connectivity issuesManage escalated tickets from trading partners and internal support teamsDocumentation, Support & Collaboration
Maintain up-to-date documentation for EDI processes, configurations, and proceduresProvide backup coverage for EDI team functions as neededParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule and provide remote supportSupport cross-functional IT initiatives and special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or related field - or equivalent professional experienceMinimum 2 years of hands-on EDI mapping and translation experienceMinimum 2 years of experience with X12 EDI standardsExperience administering EDI systems in Enterprise production environmentsTechnical Skills
Strong proficiency in UNIX/Linux and Windows environmentsExperience with UNIX shell scriptingWorking knowledge of databases and SQL queriesUnderstanding of TCP/IP networking and EDI communication protocolsAbility to analyze technical documentation and apply solutions to real-world problemsCore Competencies
