The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting for one, Permanent, Full-time Manager II position within the Human Resources Office. This position is to be located in the Sacramento office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies of these positions within the next 180 days.
The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) is seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to serve as Chief of the Human Resources Office. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner of Administration, the Manager II provides high-level leadership and oversight of all human resources programs and functions supporting a complex, statewide regulatory department. This position plays a critical role in shaping DFPI's workforce strategy, ensuring compliance with civil service rules, advancing modernization efforts, and supporting executive leadership through sound judgment, data-informed decision-making, and effective people management.

The Sacramento office is in the new state-of-the-art May Lee State Office Complex in Sacramento's River District, conveniently located next to Light Rail. On site parking is available for a fee.

Department Information The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) protects consumers and oversees financial service providers and products. The DFPI supervises the operations of state-licensed financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and money transmitters. Additionally, the DFPI licenses and regulates a variety of financial service providers, including securities brokers and dealers, investment advisers, payday lenders and other consumer finance lenders.
