We're looking for a Data Analytics Manager to lead advanced analytics, create compelling visualizations, and guide data-driven decision-making across the organization
The Data Analytics Manager enhances value to customers by leveraging advanced analytics and strong presentation skills to communicate program value and actionable insights. They provide deep analytical expertise and strategic insights across key areas of the business and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement analytical solutions that address business needs.
The Data Analytics Manager provides thought leadership and expert guidance on analytics tools, systems, and technologies, ensuring they are leveraged effectively across the organization. Pertinent to continuous improvement, the Data Analytics Manager identifies and leads high-profile projects in order to optimize and implement new analytical tools or methodologies. Additionally, they consistently manage a team of Analysts to ensure high-quality deliverables and fosters innovative data-driven decision making.
Furthermore, the Data Analytics Manager should inspire, develop, and empower their team by providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and opportunities for growth while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day departmental functioning to ensure timely and accurate reports
- Lead multiple high-profile and cross-department analytics projects for internal/external stakeholders
- Create compelling data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication/presentation skills, with the ability to present complex analytical results in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to inform decision-making
- Lead, mentor, and provide ongoing support to a team of analysts to ensure high-quality deliverables and career growth
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture focused on data-driven decision-making
- Allocate resources efficiently, manage workloads, and provide ongoing support to team members
- Responsible for hosting routine 1 on 1 meeting, documenting and hosting performance reviews, reviewing and approving timesheets and leave requests
- Manage documentation of processes in the form of Work Instructions or SOPs
- Support the creation, maintenance, and automation of data reports, dashboards, tools, and visualizations
- Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand business challenges and provide recommendations/solutions to facilitate decision making
- Enforce data quality and governance; lead collaboration efforts with IT and data engineering teams to establish consistency across systems
- Support the professional growth of team members through one-on-one coaching, skill development, and feedback, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Ensure Analytics staff have and are working in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current job descriptions
- Utilize and ensure JIRA and Confluence are utilized to document work requested and serve as a single source of truth for work performed by client teams
- Ensure department and team comply with all State and Federal regulations and abide by company policies and procedures
- Ensure that teams are appropriately staffed including coverage assignments for client-facing accounts
Supervisory Responsibilities- Provide leadership and assistance to department supervisors and staff in daily operations. Motivate and manage staff to ensure performance standards are met or exceeded.
- Provide timely direct feedback to staff through scheduled guidance/coaching sessions and mid-year/annual evaluations. This includes active coaching and engaging employees to enhance their performance and commitment.
- Assist employees to develop skills needed to achieve optimal performance and strong performance in their role.
- Actively resolve employee conflict by utilizing improvement efforts, multi-disciplinary strategies, problem-solving skills, and conflict management.
- Make timely decisions based on the evaluation of outcomes and communicate the results effectively so that the employee understands the reason behind the decision.
- Effectively counsel and coach employees on performance and behavioral improvements.
- Understand and appropriately apply employee disciplinary procedures with appropriate documentation. Coordinate terminations with HR.
- Monitor employee attendance and approve timesheets of direct reports. Authorize vacations and personal days in accordance with staffing needs.
- Lead and coach a team of Analysts to provide data governance support, research solutions, and data integrity to support Commercial and Federal customers and stakeholders.
- Has authority to provide suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change in employment status.
QualificationsEducation- BA or BS degree required:
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Related Field (i.e. Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar).
- Preferred: Master's degree in a data or healthcare-related field from an accredited college or university. If no Master's degree must have an additional 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience - Minimum 5 years relevant experience in data analytics, with at least 2 years of managerial or leadership role
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare experience, including but not limited to, Workers' Compensation: Health Plans, Insurance Industry, Medical Case Management, and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM)
- Preferred: Experience in Workers' Compensation and Specialty Health Programs
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in communicating, summarizing, and/or presenting complex analytics findings to stakeholders
- Expertise in industry-standard technical components: BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS), database management systems and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake)
- Preferred: Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, or advanced analytics. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Expertise using all MS Office Suite tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and present insights in a clear and actionable manner.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and predictive modeling techniques.
- Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.

Sedgwick Government Solutions provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings.
