The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator to be part of an exciting new opportunity in the Department of Radiology. The incumbent will receive training and be assigned as needed to research studies within the department by the Lead Research Coordinator. The Clinical Research Coordinator should be able to adapt quickly to new tasks and have strong communication skills.
Job Summary
Prepares grant applications, manuscripts, Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications, research papers, and assists with complex research papers. Audits research studies, monitors study budgets, resolves complex data collection issues, and implements protocol-specific study recruitment plans. Trains staff and oversees student workers; leads team meetings. Monitors study budgets and orders supplies.
Essential Functions
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to: assisting with all clinical research trials; write, submit, and revise protocol for retrospective, pharmaceutical, other industry sponsors, and multi-institutional studies for IRB (University, Children's and Magee Womens); recruit, screen, and enroll patients; de-identify data; search for eligible patients based on diagnosis or through existing systems; database creation and maintenance; prepare PowerPoint presentations; assist with poster presentations; utilize Stentor and image retrieval; and provide support on all divisional publications. Additionally, in this role the Clinical Research Coordinator will assist in the design of database worksheets, score sheets for imaging studies, perform data queries and calculations, perform data entry of demographics, treatment, and imaging data, and produce tables, charts, graphs, and summaries for faculty members on specific projects. The position requires knowledge of locating images through various storage means and the ability to maintain de-identified files in an organized manner.
Physical Effort
Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. Individual may need to travel between different hospitals in the Oakland, Shadyside, and North Hills areas.
