Position Overview Oversee daily dispatch operations to ensure efficient, timely delivery of products. Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to maximize delivery network efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Operations Management
- Supervise daily dispatch activities and monitor real-time operations
- Manage delivery schedules and coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Oversee 3PL relationships and monitor performance against service level agreements
3PL Management
- Serve as primary liaison with third-party logistics providers
- Evaluate 3PL performance metrics (on-time delivery, damage rates, customer satisfaction)
- Negotiate rates and service terms with 3PL carriers
- Resolve issues with 3PL providers and conduct performance reviews
- Manage selection and onboarding of new 3PL providers
Team Leadership
- Lead, train, and develop dispatch team
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching
- Create work schedules to ensure adequate coverage
Customer Service & Reporting
- Resolve escalated delivery issues and complaints
- Track and report on key metrics (on-time delivery, customer satisfaction)
- Analyze performance data and recommend process improvements
- Review and approve 3PL invoices for accuracy
Required Qualifications Education & Experience:
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics/Supply Chain preferred
- 3-5 years of dispatch or logistics operations experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- 2+ years managing or coordinating with 3PL providers
- Experience with dispatch software, GPS tracking, and TMS platforms
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance
