Position Summary:
The Pharmaceutical Sales Representative (PSR) is responsible for driving prescription growth and achieving sales objectives within an assigned territory through direct engagement with healthcare professionals. This role is focused on promoting Natroba (spinosad topical suspension) to dermatologists, pediatricians, family practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, school nurses, pharmacies, and other healthcare professionals who influence treatment decisions.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, results-oriented sales professional who thrives in a competitive environment, enjoys building strong customer relationships, and can effectively execute territory business plans to maximize market opportunities. Successful representatives are expected to consistently execute territory call plans, develop key customer relationships, and achieve prescription growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Professionally represent Cipher Pharmaceuticals and promote Natroba in accordance with company SOPs, sales training, and all applicable compliance requirements.
- Develop and execute a strategic territory business plan designed to maximize prescription growth and market penetration.
- Conduct consistent in-person sales calls with healthcare professionals, pharmacies, and other key stakeholders within the assigned territory.
- Deliver compelling and compliant product presentations to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, school nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals and key accounts to support long-term business growth.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with regional Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
- Monitor territory performance, analyze market trends, and adjust strategies to achieve or exceed sales goals.
- Participate in national and regional sales meetings, training programs, Plan of Action meetings, and product launch activities.
- Represent the company at approved industry conferences, trade shows, and professional association meetings.
- Maintain accurate customer records, call activity, and account information within the company CRM system.
- Complete and submit required sales reports, call reports, expense reports, and other administrative documentation on time.
- Maintain a high level of product, disease state, and competitive market knowledge.
- Complete Cipher Pharmaceuticals' sales training program and ongoing development initiatives.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of professional sales experience preferred.
- Pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical device, or business-to-business sales experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships and achieve measurable sales results.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and territory management abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office applications, and digital communication tools.
- Must reside within the assigned territory.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company insurability requirements.
- Ability to use a personal credit card for reimbursable business expenses.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory on a daily basis.
- Some overnight travel may be required for territory coverage, conferences, and company meetings.
- Ability to lift and transport sales materials and product samples up to 25 pounds.
- Must successfully pass company background screening and security requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharmaceutical sales experience.
- Experience calling on dermatologists, pediatricians, family practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, or related healthcare professionals.
- Knowledge of prescription pharmaceutical products and healthcare industry regulations.
- Experience developing territory business plans and managing customer accounts independently.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms and data-driven territory management.
